Once again, another year has gone by altogether too quickly. Unfortunately for me, I didn't get an opportunity to dive in December before the grouper closure on January 1. The winds picked up the week before Christmas and didn't let up (actually haven't let up) so December came and went and January showed up without my being able to bag that last grouper of the winter. I guess I'm just going to have to wait until May 1st to land that next big one! I only hope that I am able to dive a little later this winter and get to see the benefits of this second annual closure even if I don't get to take any of them home with me.
A couple of friends of mine did get to go out the two weekends before Christmas and had a grand old time. They were even kind enough to send me pictures of their catch so I could get good and envious. All I got to do was start the boat motors in my back yard to make sure my batteries are well conditioned. You never know when there might be a diving emergency and I may have to leap into action at a moment's notice so it will hopefully pay to be prepared.
Well, I look forward to another year of pictures, stories and adventures making sure to chronicle it all right here (in case anyone is actually interested... besides me of course :). So to go along with all those holiday toasts people have made over the past couple of weeks... Here's to the beginning of another year with calm seas, clean water, safe dives, straight aim, long breath and of course Big Fish!
